What is RAW?

To be technical, Wiki tells us this:

Raw foodism (or rawism) is a lifestyle promoting the consumption of uncooked, unprocessed, and often organic foods as a large percentage of the diet.

Less technical:

To me, raw food is alive.  When we cook food we are killing the nutrients, beneficial enzymes and antioxidents (cancer fighters).  Plain and simple.

To me, raw is about eating only the items that you could grow (given you had acres and acres of land - mmm there are amazing foods out there).  Can you grow Captain Crunch?  No.  Ok, not good for you.  It's that simple in my mind.  Processed foods are created to preserve food in order for obtaining a very long shelf life.  I'll keep it simple without going into GMOs, or MSG and like chemicals.  Let's just keep it simple, from the vine, tree, plant, or bush, to your table.

Organic or not Organic:  Well, let's be real here.  Organic is obviously ideal, but can be very pricey.  I saw GO ORGANIC! (for the record).  But for those not even convinced that Captain Crunch does not grow on a vine, let's just get started on learning how to eat raw.  Here's some INFO on the pro's of Organic vs. Nonorganic.

Thanks!
